Important: Eavesdropping Policy

Video calls to mom are auto-answered.

You will not hear a ring tone.

Please don't cover your camera - eavesdrop.

The video frame auto-answers so there are no buttons for mom to figure out how to use. Please extend mom the same courtesy and privacy you would want if there was a video camera in your room.

1) Please be considerate of Mom's privacy. Her camera should be covered so you will see a black screen.  Please don't cover your camera. Mom, and others in the room, should see your face on her screen.

2) Video calling without exposing yourself on camera or verbally announcing your call is considered eavesdropping on mom and/or the staff which is not permitted under ANY circumstance.

3) When you video call, you will not hear a ring tone. A short musical chime will play on the video frame.  Two seconds later, the video call will automatically answer. You may not know exactly when this is because you will only see a black screen. This is because Mom's Privacy Door is covering the camera.

4) When you call, you can say "hi Mom" and point to the top of your screen and ask her to open the Privacy Door (or camera cover).

5) Before hanging up, ask mom to close the privacy door. You can end the call after the door is closed.  This will ensure Mom has privacy when the next person calls.

Thanks in advance for helping us ensure mom keeps her privacy, and we all get to use this incredible technology to keep in though with mom.
